Glenmorangie's SOUNDFORM Fluid Showcase and Afterparty‏

SOUNDFORM Fluid which a stunning, sculptural bar that brings to life the ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ philosophy advocated by Glenmorangie. It was officially unveiled the couple weeks back at The Gardens in Mid Valley. In case you do not know, the SOUNDFORM Fluid bar was designed by renowned architect and interior designer Philip Michael Wolfson for Glenmorangie, and it was inspired by the sonograph reading of the sound of Glenmorangie whisky being poured into a crystal glass. How nice.

Statuesquely taking the centre stage at the North Atrium of The Gardens Mall, the SOUNDFORM Fluid is an evocative sight. Its bold jagged edges are covered in a black aluminium finish on the exterior, while the golden orange interior, which mimics the colour of Glenmorangie, is lit up to create an aesthetic, visual counter balance. Complementing the stunning display was commentary by Glenmorangie Malaysia’s Brand Manager, Michael Tan, who explained the concept that sparked the creation of the ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ SOUNDFORM Fluid bar.

Felt so great I was get invited by G2PR to attend to the showcase and after-party, brought the boyfie and my party queen was tagged along too. The showcase saw celebrities and single malt aficionados enjoy a night of appreciation as they savoured the ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’. After which, the crowd adjourned to Vertigo for the after-party featuring US DJ duo Manufactured Superstars, who supplied a steady flow of house, dance and electro pop into the night. They did served us nicely, VIP area with a Glenmorangie bottle on the table. Ended up three persons finishing up the whole bottle, nice job!

Let the photos do the talking, shall we?

Glenmorangie "Unnecessarily Well Made"

Glenmorangie is arguably the most delicious and complex single malt whisky in the world. Its undoubtly multi-layered aromas and kaleidoscopic flavours stimulate the senses and entice the palate.

As purveyors of perfection in single malt whisky, Glenmorangie takes pride in going to great lengths to ensure the quality of Glenmorangie whisky; to ascertain that Glenmorangie whisky is “Unnecessarily Well Made”.

But do you guys know that, how “Unnecessarily Well Made” is Glenmorangie?

Well, Single malt whisky obtains its flavour from the wooden casks used in maturation. Many of Glenmorangie’s bespoke casks are made from white oaks grown on the Ozark Mountains in Missouri, USA.

They are grown slowly over 100 years and seasoned naturally in the open air for two years to preserve their porous texture which a quality that adds to the spirit’s intriguing depth.

Glenmorangie casks are only ever used twice to ensure the optimal amount of flavour is extracted into the whisky.

While there are many perfectly good single malt whiskies made in shorter stills, the Glenmorangie Distillery utilizes swan-necked stills that are the tallest in Scotland.

Glenmorangie stills stand at a dizzying sixteen feet, ten and one quarter inches (5.14m) high.

This height means that only the lightest and purest vapours are able to ascend to the top and condense into spirit, contributing to Glenmorangie’s distinctive complexity and layered flavour.

The superiority of the ingredients, you guys would surprise that they are actually using local spring water from its own Tarlogie spring and locally grown Scottish barley, combined with the skill of the craftsmen who follow the same, time honoured approach that the company has used throughout its long history, result in a smooth spirit of distinction.

So now, feel bored to my long-story? Fret not, the most interesting part comes! An extension of Glenmorangie’s
“Unnecessarily Well Made” here in Malaysia.

Guys and girls, be sure not to miss the opportunity to familiarize with all things ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ this April. Come 11 April to 1 May 2012, Glenmorangie’s SOUNDFORM Fluid bar will be showcased in the North Atrium of The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City.

Whether you are a single malt aficionado, a fan of contemporary design, or just plain curious, be sure to head to The Gardens to catch the SOUNDFORM Fluid, which is a striking yet sculpturally functional illustration of Glenmorangie’s ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ concept.

Glenmorangie Orange Night

What would your mind think of when heard the word "Glenmorangie"? Liquor? Club? Drunk? Whisky? Or party perhaps? Now listen well, let me tell all of you what exactly Glenmorangie is.

Glenmorangie is, quite simply, the most delicious and complex single malt whisky in the world. Its multi-layered aromas and kaleidoscopic flavours stimulate the senses and entice the palate. This beautifully seductive spirit originates in the heart of the Scottish Highlands where, at the Glenmorangie distillery, it is first captured by elegant, swan necked stills that are the tallest in Scotland, and then expertly matured in the finest oak casks. Undeniably the most complex and perfectly balanced single malt. Every sip of Glenmorangie offers a heady and alluring experience in taste, texture and aroma in no doubt way.

Was get invited to the Glenmorangie Orange Night which took place at The Pool. For those who doesn't know, The Hill's second outlet The Pool is located along Jalan Ampang. A night of perfect retro funk by Glenmorangie.

Glenmorangie Orange Night guests were treated to host Will Quah’s witticisms and “Unnecessarily Well Made” questions, which saw the audience winning exclusive Glenmorangie gifts and upping their knowledge of what it takes to make a barrel of Glenmorangie single malt scotch whisky. Female models “dressed” in retro-inspired body paint added to the festive atmosphere as guests had a lively time getting their photos snapped with them! Stand up comedian Kuah Jenhan bagged the Best Dressed Award with his orange ensemble, while emcee Will Quah and actor Gary Wong were spotted filling their glasses from the Glenmorangie Zest Serve, a sculptural serving stand which creates an infusion of orange zest with Glenmorangie whisky.

Moving from retro funk to the future, Glenmorangie ambassadors unveiled the brand new Glenmorangie Facebook page on their iPads. Single malt lovers and fans of arguably the most delicious and complex single malt whisky in the world can now access the page at www.fb.com/GlenmorangieMalaysia to receive exclusive updates, events and promotions by Glenmorangie. Further to this, guests also entertained themselves with the Glenmorangie “Spin The Bottle” App on the iPads.

As the Glenmorangie Zest Serve further revealed Glenmorangie single malt scotch whisky’s layers of flavour, guests were kept on their feet by the groovy mix of Daikanyama’s resident DJ and the backbeat of Deer Society – Alex Asquared. With a steady flow of house and indie dance laced with a dash of 80’s synth from the decks, the Glenmorangie ‘Orange Night’ was a tasteful mix of the refined, hedonistic enjoyment of single malt whisky balanced with a healthy serving of witty retro funk, which proved to be infectious all night long!
